Had a long phone conversation with Virginia who pretty much runs all the office work at Lilja barrels.
Seems our fine state department slapped all exporters with a huge increase in fees for exporting firearms and componants.
Even worse then this, the took retro action and charged them an additional $250 for every barrel that they exporter LAST YEAR!!!
HOW IN THE HELL IS THIS POSSIBLE!!!!
The federal government has stepped out of the dark and made it clear that they are focused on destroying the gun industry. They know they can not TAKE our rifles away so they are doing these back door deals and hitting us in different ways.
At first it looks like they are just protecting us from out of country attacks for shipping our firearm products abroad. If that were the case, they could put on a tarriff on the products paid for by the customers, not the business. And what is the call for the retro increase charges??
They told Lilja that they simply had to make money. Good to see that they are standing up for the small business in the country. Seems they really want to get this ecomony turned around.
Virginia said that They are charged the same amount to export a single barrel as Boeing is charged for an aircraft!!!!! A bit biased attacks I think.
Anyway, it has started and they are not trying to hide anymore. They can not take our guns as easily but they will put the firearm industry out of business because we will not be able to pay all the fees and taxes to stay in business and if we charge enough to make some money, our customers will not be able to afford it.
Make no doubt, this is just the start of the attack on small businesses in the firearm industry.
We get the government we deserve. Its true that there are very few here that voted for this new administation but its also true that millions of conservatives set on their *** and did nothing on election day. To those that felt it was better to not vote and "MAKE A STATEMENT", you are as much to blame for this as those that voted for Obama except you knew better and should have known what would happen.
Its a time for change, get ready for it because it will not be in our favor.
They have 2 years to do what ever they want unchecked. They have already imposed retro income taxes of 90%, they have moved into private businesses and fired CEO because they did not think they were performing as the government wanted them to and they have just imposed retro fees to small businesses.
I thought for years the problem was we were importing more then exporting, and now they hammer our exports like this. If things do not change in 2010 all may be lost because once this starts, its nearly impossible to reverse. If you think we can not loose our firearms you are sadly a fool. We may not loose our rifles but we will not be able to afford to shoot them. That is the new plan, that is the new attack. Realize it before its to late and get ahold of your senators and Reps and make some noise, ALOT OF NOISE or they will take our voice as well.
Sorry for the rant but we all knew it was coming, now its starting.
