Opinions on a good straight up hunting optic for $500-$700 dollars

Here's 3 criteria that are a must for me in a dedicated hunting scope
Light weight
Clarity
Low light capabilities

If I cant see what I'm shooting at it doesnt do me any good. I shoot alot of deer right at last light so that is a big part of what I'm looking for

Your low light needs will lead to a 30mm tube and a 50mm objective lens. You will also have your clarity but will be adding weight. Not much but a little.

Sad but true. So far, that's the only drawback but it going to be on a 6 lbs rifle and put me slightly over 8 lbs. Also, I paid $325 for it, opened but not used ... owner changed his mind and went a different route.

Did you see the thread where Leo's on ebay are knock off's? Midway won't sell knock off's. GB Leo's could easily be knock off's.

There are quite a few full price sellers there also if you prefer to pay list. Always get return rights. Are knockoffs cheap copies or factory seconds? I've never bought a scope via GB, but I have other reliable sources for Loopies.

Hey guys, what all your opinions on a good hunting scope to go on a tikka t3x lite in 6.5 creed? Trying to keep the overall package around 8lbs scoped. This will be my 0-500 yard whitetail rifle and will also be for my boy when he goes hunting next year so I dont need anything fancy. Looking for something in that 3-15ish power range with an easy to use reticle. Illumination is nice but not a must. A low profile exposed turrent is a bonus. I've seen a few but just cant make up my mind. Trying to keep in around d 500-700 bucks

Vortex or leupold all the way vortex has more options try 4x16x44lr with changeable turrets

I think you can find a lot of good glass in this price range - certainly for hunting out to 500 yards. And to think back in the 50's and early 60's - I used a 4 power fixed Weaver when growing up - but young eyes didn't need much more then in the timber. The only side by side I have done was at a Cabella's - looking at an antelope 104 yards from the scope case - and took three scopes in your price range - equivalent models of Leupold, Vortex and Burris - and the Vortex had the best clarity but all three were good quality. Also have looked Zeiss whenever looked through them - but have not done a side by side test with the 3 mentioned above. Heck - today - you can could find decent hunting glass - more in the 3x9 power style - for even as low as a couple hundred dollars.
