OMG Catastrophe of Global Impact!

I grew up drinking boiled coffee. Big ol pot on the stove, 1/2 cup of folgers or butternut. Bring to a boil, kill heat, let settle for a few minutes and voila. coffee. Still how I prefer it, but brewed is fine too.
We called that G.I. or Cowboy coffee. I love it, but my wife is not a fan. Then again she doesn't eat grounds either.

Found this old post by accident, just had to reply. I keep an old vacuum coffee maker in the basement and pray for a chance to break it out. If anyone out there has never has coffee from a vacuum maker, you haven't had coffee. Got hooked on a fishing trip to Canada in the 70's. That pot was old then. They have a learning curve, but well worth it.

I'll have to look into that

I have 2 Nicro Stainless steel pots. They are the Cadillac of vacuum pots in my mind. There is a place that still makes replacement seals (there is a seal between the top and bottom piece) for them. You can find these on ebay.
