Ok I am not a big fan of the 6.5 Creedmore

Did I say it did something that wasn't already being done? No I didn't!
And yes their are many, many options that will outperform it. Was I comparing it to a 264wm or 6.5x284. Nope!
It is a decent middle of the road 6.5 and Hornady did a great job marketing it. That part you have right, but that's not "it". It is the single most popular 6.5 today and I would bet it outsells all other 6.5 rifles and ammo put together. And when the Creed entered the market it didn't really have any competition for a short action cartridge. The 260 was basically doa and the x47L was and is a niche.
Don't get your knickers in a twist, I'm simply stating facts. If you want to have an emotional argument find someone else.

The CM took over the market for the reason I said, Hornady and Ruger had a brilliant strategy for the introduction with high quality factory ammo ready to feed, good quality factory rifles.

The also created a demand ahead of time by getting some of the best competitive shooters in the country shooting it and breaking existing records before that introduction.

The .260 only fell from favor because Remington is horrible when it comes to introducing and promoting new cartridges and they always have been. Their greatest commercial success came with the 7RM and that's only because it had no real commercial competitor for many years.

Ha ha ha! LMFAO! I wasn't and am not a "emotional" person. If you think what you have to say has any impact on me, in any way, you are sadly mistaken.
You and many others come on these "Creedmoor bash threads" to show your dislike for the cartridge or the people that shoot it just to stir the pot. It is getting old.

There may be a "little" truth to some members disliking the Creemoor but very little. Most are pokin the bear knowing it bothers the hardcore Creed guys. No seriousness too it. I do it as well and own a 6.5 CM. Seems to me that there are just as many or more Creedmoor lovers with the same dislike for any other 6.5 than the Creedmoor. It's a pretty fair playing field. When I was building one for a buddy, he constantly was talking down the majority of it's 6.5 cousins. He never even had a 6.5 gun previously so had no idea what he was talking about .Many of the 6.5 CM guys are exactly like him. They don't reload, don't have any knowledge of it's ballistic performance and do not know a thing about LR. Just what they read and hear. The guys that know all those things,(and there are alot here) truly know the CM's performance and it's ability vs the other 6.5 cartridges. The "Real" guys aren't buying into the hype and BS. There's alot of it and we all hear it and read about it. It's no miracle round and it's no replacement for any current cartridge. It's simply another 6.5...Period. It has some good qualities already mentioned just as some other 6.5 have that the CM does not. We can all agree to disagree and admit it's here to stay. Either way, there will be a division in belief.

I am sure many novice shooters got as worked up listening to the 270, 243 and 7mmREM hype. Back then it was more MV equals flat trajectory, but experienced hunters knew about point blank range and that around 300, 350 to 400 yards the faster rounds needed good range estimation and some method to judge hold over in plain cross hair reticles. So in practicality all that speed was of minimal advantage unless you had a range finder and dial up scope or marked cross hairs which back then no one had. Well we no longer have the MV hype, now everyone talks about SD and BC which back when the 7mmREM came out most casual to average hunters would look at you funny if you moved on from MV of the 7REM and started talking BC of the Sierra BTGK vs the Nosler partition. Also back then no internet forums to bash the shooters that bought into the "magic" of the new best thing. So I am learning to let those all juiced up on the "this is the best ever" be happy in their simple world and try not to be a cranky old fart and tell everyone that they know nothing. But it is fun to go round and round about this stuff and sometimes it stirs up something new I did not know before.

LRH should require a donation to St. Jude just to mention 6.5 creedmore.

Yes its been talked to death already.
Completely Concur! And 260 Remington over 6.5 Creedmoore, all day. I question if those hell bent on it, know that the reamers and tolerances, from Ruger to Savage, are different. So ammunition that can work in one, won't even chamber in the other. Something not mentioned along with all the hype. I don't argue about it's Ballistic capability. I just am explaining what I was taught; having worked with those, in the Firearms industry, and constantly taking with the Ballistics Engineers(as I am just the shooter and concept designer, whom those I worked with, could machine into reality). But, I am a 30 Caliber Man. And with Warner Tool Flatline Bullets, my 30-06 will shoot 2,000 yards, all day. I probably won't hit the steel or even the same hill... but love the 06, as my "General/All Purpose Rifle", since loads from 125 gr to 220gr offer the broadest spectrum of options. Beware of the man with one gun. They probably know how to use it. Gysgt Carlos Hathcock Jr, Billy Dixon, Captain James York, should I continue, cough cough... But we do not have those Legends, running around anymore. Who can quote,"Calculate the whole Ball of Wax, on the fly."-Carlos Hathcock Jr, and used a 4x scope.
