Night force NSX for hunting

Anyone have the NSX for hunting ?
Speaking with a salesmen, and he's guiding me away from the NSX for hunting. Because it's not a low light scope for dawn & dusk.

Any comments ?
What scope is he trying to sell you?

in my opinion for a lot of years the nxs was the best hunting scope you could buy. nowadays there are a lot of reliable options but i'd still use an nxs every chance i get. great tracking and return to zero. illuminated reticle. a lot of reticle options. high speed turrets. zero stop. plenty of internal elevation adjustment. what more would you want. granted the older nxs scopes didn't have some of these features but at that time neither did any other scopes.

I've never not been able to see the 3.5-15's reticle....and if it ever happened, the illumination would eliminate the problem.

Yes, it's kinda heavy, but I wouldn't put it on a truly lightweight rifle. Its currently on a Rem 700 AAC-SD, and I wouldn't hesitate to take it on a hunt.

I've got 3 NSX models. Two 5.5-22 X 50's and one 3.5-15 X 50. Glass is as good as it gets for my old eyes. Been hunting with them for many, many years and never had a problem at dawn or dusk. Now I think a lighted reticle is standard, just pull the parallax knob out and there ya go. I killed a hog under a full moon not to long ago using the lighted reticle. Tracking has always been spot on. Kinda like a timex watch, takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. Not to mention their customer service is top notch.

Nsx is the OG. Fantastic scopes. I smashed the obj bell down on one of mine on a rock. Bent the bell back out of view with my leatherman and kept using it. Tough as they get and great glass.
