So guys I have a new project that I can't get out of my head. A 15lb .416 weatherby shooting the 375 grn cuttingedge bullets with a B.C of .825. I'll push them 2800fps.

If it is intended for long range hunting be careful with the weight (Mose states wont allow
rifles over 16 pounds scope and all).

The 416 is a beast and can be very accurate.

It is one of my favorite big bore calibers.

If you are looking for the ultimate 416 the 338/416 Excalibur would be the ticket because
of case capacity or the 505/416.

These big cases will hold an average of 135 to 140 grains of powder and should be able to
push the big 416 bullet close to 3000 ft/sec.

Sounds like an interesting project. Keep us posted.

Je Custom ,
You are exactly right. I am going to keep the weight at 15 lbs. Im thinking 32in barrel, a big muzzle break. Now I need to decide if I'm going custom action or buy the MrkV weatherby.
