Welcome from wv
Thanks for the welcome! I shoot a freedom arms m83 in .454 and it's been my go to for longrange pistol work. I've had it for a while now and really enjoy pushing its limits. I've taken game with it out to 200 yards, and it's always impressive how accurate a well tuned pistol can be at those ranges. That TC Contender of yours is a great choice, I've heard they're phenomenal for precision shooting. What caliber are you using?Welcome to the forum. What pistols do you shoot? I am not sure if I am a long range pistol shooter, but I have taken game out to 185 yards with a Thompson Center Contender.
I use .22 Hornet barrel for prairie dogs and a .30 Herrett mostly for pronghorn and deer. .35 Remington barrel gets used for deer also. I have a .41 and .44 mag in Ruger Blackhawks. They are limited to 80 to 100 yards. They are not near what the Freedom Arms is capable of. What part of Ohio are you from? I was born in Canton, OH.Thanks for the welcome! Hunting has been a family tradition passed down and a life long passion. I learned hunting and trapping from my grandpa and uncles. I joined the Army after graduation at 17 years of age. I moved to Alaska after my discharge so I could hunt new and bigger game. I don't think my hunting and shooting passion will die until I do.I see you're a firearms enthusiast with a solid lineup of calibers for various game, impressive choices for prairie dogs, pronghorn, and deer!
