Welcome to the forum. What pistols do you shoot? I am not sure if I am a long range pistol shooter, but I have taken game out to 185 yards with a Thompson Center Contender.
Thanks for the welcome! I shoot a freedom arms m83 in .454 and it's been my go to for longrange pistol work. I've had it for a while now and really enjoy pushing its limits. I've taken game with it out to 200 yards, and it's always impressive how accurate a well tuned pistol can be at those ranges. That TC Contender of yours is a great choice, I've heard they're phenomenal for precision shooting. What caliber are you using?

I use .22 Hornet barrel for prairie dogs and a .30 Herrett mostly for pronghorn and deer. .35 Remington barrel gets used for deer also. I have a .41 and .44 mag in Ruger Blackhawks. They are limited to 80 to 100 yards. They are not near what the Freedom Arms is capable of. What part of Ohio are you from? I was born in Canton, OH.

I see you're a firearms enthusiast with a solid lineup of calibers for various game, impressive choices for prairie dogs, pronghorn, and deer! Since you mentioned Canton, OH, that's a great area with deep hunting traditions. I'm curious, has hunting been a lifelong passion for you, or is it a tradition that's been passed down through your family, maybe even from your grandparents? I'm from Cleveland!
