How do you know if either of them compare to a standard? More importantly, what is the standard?

1...saying you use same ammo in several rifles...they can't all be built exactly the same....
2...using different ammo in the same rifle could not possibly have the same pressures.....

Think he's trying to imply a know velocity and tested against it. It's a simple time and distance calculation but is there an accuracy gauge or calibration. It makes sense I'd imagine all the companies have a way to verify their data but seeking a standard is likely futile.

Uh well if anyone is dumb enough to do that god help them. For reloaders the data is pretty easy to determine if it's semi accurate or not. I've not had to adjust velocity using magneto or labs. I imagine the garmin will be no different.
I will wait a while and see how it all comes out.

Mine works great point in that general direction it Never misses a shot my data lines up with data I've had previously that's my report.
So you have the Garmin?

All we know is that they are very close in speed. We will know if they are way off bc the calculated drops will not match actual results. But we have no idea if one is more accurate than the other.
High speed cameras may be the way to verify the muzzle velocity, but I'm not sure. If you know precisely how fast it is moving via that method, then you could compare any chrono to that during testing. Or use a verified accurate, high end scientific chrono to compare other chronos against.

I've had them all, sold my magneto long ago. Got rid the labradar as soon as the first batch of Xeros shipped to try still get some value out of it. My xero has never missed a shot in last 3-4 months of using it. The new labradar? Too late is my thoughts. Obviously they were sitting on this, or heard about the garmin last spring and rushed to compete. Well aiming the unit will still be a pain, and their app interface is garbage. So long labradar........garmin has been listening to their customers and is adding features and updates within their firmware already. Labradar customer service was almost impossible to get hold of.

Used my garmin today. Packed it in the bp while wolf hunting and took a few shots. So easy a caveman……
