Midway has the ammo listed at around $65. The ability reload the cases is going to be the deal for me.
Me too. I haven't shot anything other than my loads for the past 11+ years. In 2014 Sunnyvale, CA started the first ammo registration in Caliornia. Prior to that, I used to frequent U.S. Firearms, the guy was a great guy and he'd test fire my guns for me in the back room. When the ammo reg hit, he decided to move back to San Diego where he was from...
I live over by Cupertino, and there was a gunstore there named Kerley's, and it's right around the corner from Apple, so you can imagine the wokeness that closed in on him, and he's now in the U.S. Firearms building in Sunnyvale.
But I wanted to explain that because everyone is not woke here, despite what people think. Open Source software is based around freedom and I worked at a place called VA Linux Systems, they were the last IPO in 1999, and it was only about 6 months later that the dot-bomb hit. One of the board members wrote a famous book called the Cathedral and the Bizarre, his name is Eric Raymond. When he would fly into town for the board meetings we would have a range day and go to Milpitas range, and VA paid for us to rent any pistol we wanted and we could shoot unlimited amount ammo. A few would take their own handguns, and Eric would be his 45ACP on the plane. I also like the 1911, it just feels right to me. The cool thing about this was we'd setup the line with all types of handguns and you could try all of them, revolvers, semi-autos, specific brands, I used to rent a Walther PPK 380, my step dad had one of those, that's what I would want to CCW if I was to. I wish there was a place to try rifles like that...
When we would go back to VA, Eric would hang all of the targets around the CEO's desk and I said everyone wasn't woke, but everyone wasn't right either...and people would complain how obnoxious it was to see silhouettes of humans with massive holes all over.
I've taken a lot of heat over the years...the majority of the workplace in Silicon Valley is anti-2A. I have other funny stories, but I digress...
But it is true that I only shoot my loads, and I'm sure others do as well. Mine stems from this f#@$'d up state and Newsom/Hairy@$$ that imposed much of it on us, but it really stems back to FeinFrankenStein...I digress...
We're gonna get our right back here, but I will forever reload, and will only use cartridges that I can reload and get components for. Components don't get tracked in CA, so you can buy/sell privately and over the counter. Other than that, we can't get powder or primers unless you hazmat it in. I haven't hazmat'd for years. But you can buy primers and powder over the counter if you can find it...same problem with 277 Fury or 7BC, if you can find it...
I apologize for the long post, bedtime for bonzo...
