New 30/375 wildcat

Will do! Also I was thinking about the 30-375 but the other 2 SI's would indeed be just the ticket for a bean field whitetail laser.

I got my hands on some 230 OTM's and gave them a try today. It was really windy and my 100 yard rest is under a large fir tree so not only do you get the direct wind affect, but the tree rocking causes some movement in the roots and you can see it in the crosshairs. That being said, I managed a .3 4 shot group with H1000 and also reached 2934' with Retumbo. It looks as if both the 215 hybrids and the 230 OTM's have a lot of potential in the S.I. I hope to have a chance for some long range stuff soon.......Rich

Hi guys....finally got the call from BAT today to send the barrel in for melonite. Just in the nick of time before I shoot it out before treating!:D My 12 year old niece is coming over from Mt. for a one day bear hunt so I fired three shots to check the load. Below is the result. As close as I could measure the 3 shot group measured 0.07". Those 215 hybrids will flat group!........Rich

Man oh man Rich, there's nothing at all not to like about that!!!!!

Ya, I'm pretty jacked about the whole package. I'm going to send my SIII in to see if they can calibrate it while the barrel is being treated. Tomorrow, I hope a bear shows his face:D......Rich

Goodness Gracious! Those are the guns you almost hate to shoot. You better get a new one built so you can save that one for very special shooting occasions!

It's the best I've ever had! I recommend that you save up your beans and buy a BAT action. I hated to spend that kind of $$$$$ but I'm realy glad that I did. I have all the good stuff in a pkg. and can now just replace barrels when necessary....rich

so do you think that is most of where the accuracy is coming from, the action. I know you said you were very happy with the barrel too. And the cartridge is playing some kind of role too.

Ya, I think the whole pkg. came together. You don't get a rifle that shoots like that unless EVERYTHING is right. The barrel was exceptional according to my smith. I think the cartridge is a good design too, and so far, case life is very good for the velocities I'm getting. I really like that straight wall design with the 40 degree shoulder coupled with a good neck. Everything stays put in the chamber with little stretching etc. Again though, it all starts with the foundation and that BAT action is stiff and true.........Rich
