Need some advice

I am starting a 6.5 creedmoor build and am thinking about using small primer brass. I have never reloaded small primer brass before. Is there anything different that I need? Currently reload 308 win 7mm08 rem 300 win and starting on 338 lapua. Thanks for the help.

Depending how to seat your primers, you’ll probably need a small primer seater, and primers.

Past that, it should be the same process.

You also have the CCI450 option on small primers (magnum small rifle) which might be needed on your CM

Lapua brass has a smaller than standard flash hole so you’ll need an 057 decapping pin. The standard 074 pins will break or get stuck and ruin your brass.

Is this for target shooting or hunting?
Target shooting, I’d consider the small.
For all around hunting, especially if it could be in colder weather than I’d go large.
I’m thinking you’ll get by fine with either.

Quality decapping stuff has the smaller pin available. I use the small primer Lapua stuff. Its a heavier base, and the 6.5 Creed is running HOT so primer pocket expansion is real. CCI 450 is the ticket.
