Dang that's really awesome velocity with such a short barrel!
Kinda makes we wish Id gone with a 24" instead of 26" for my 30 SM.
What chronograph are you using?
Magnetospeed.

honestly you probably did the right thing, I'm kind of amazed I hit 3k with a 21"

going to dive into that flat spot next and try to find a seating depth it really likes, I'm more than happy with 2850 and accuracy. But if it wants to run up in the rafters and be accurate I'm not going to stop it either lol

Update with NXS 5.5-22x50. I think this scope fits the rifle better.

Zeroed the NXS and played with seating depth a little bit, didn't have much time and 92 degrees made it less than comfortable. Still getting through first firing on this brass. Extra 12 ounces of the NXS makes this rifle a joy to shoot at 10 pounds flat

215m 30 off, my pal painted the target before I got over there. It went under 3"

I'm not sure if I'm the sole reason for the horizontal stringing but I'd like to say no as both primers seemed to tighten up horizontal when I moved out to 30 off.

still on initial forming of ADG brass and haven't started serious development yet but having a blast learning how to reload from an accurate rifle and Alex has been a tremendous help.

another shoutout that I'm running 2900fps out of a 21" with no pressure signs and it's 90 degrees out here🤟

Update

rifle is borderline perfect, I'm as picky as the come, it does everything I've asked of it. So far 2 shots 2 deer. Season isn't over so maybe I will come upon a long shot before new year. So far we have 10 yards and 140 yards while sitting in a stand. No issues with the shiny barrel, had a small 8 walk right up and look at me and couldn't get me figure out and never spooked. It's amazing how quiet this rifle is when suppressed considering the payload, testament to Ecco machines work on my custom can core

Freeking fantastic. SO glad to went back to the Nightforce with Seekins rings. Perfect gun, don't overthink getting it better than it is. Keep that load and start killin stuff.
LR Steel in the off season.

1. Watch the carbon ring in the throat, keep it under control. If you're going to shoot it a LOT. go ahead and order another identical barrel.

my .02

Merry Christmas

yeah these big cartridges especially supressed seem to want to cake up the throat pretty good. So far it's not been too difficult getting it out with 50bgm and c4 as needed with a bronze brush. I've gone my longest interval without cleaning just now and will be scoping and getting it cleaned this week. If I can remember I'll try to post at least some pictures.

It should last through 2021 season before needing a rebarrel at my rate, we will see I laid off it a little over the summer as mirage was getting horrendous and we had terrible rains so I couldn't get over to set up targets, just shoot steel. I will be doing real load development this winter during the off season, landed some 7977, 7828 and n565 to play around with and still have plenty of 26.

What did you decide on scopes? I finally settled on SWFA HDs and Bushnell DMRs. I'm so picky, I even gave up on an ATACR...lol

I never decide. It's usually got an nxs on it but I also use it to test any scope I play with.

perfect scope does not exist. Nxs and Swfa 5-20 is close. Still wanting to try a tt315 next year, we will see.

After boretech c4 and bronze brush

patched came out clean, still a carbon ring visible in the throat.

edit* not done cleaning this barrel just showing along the way.
