Musicians that as a youth you under appreciated

I started liking outlaw country in my mid 40's, missed it the first time.

I always have to be different, today, it is the artists I gave too much credit to. neil young, bruce springsteen, to name a couple. I cannot align with their political stances today.

For the longest time, I was die-hard 70's classic rock and it has always taken me a decade or so to warm up to new stuff. I figure bands like the Allman's, Blackfoot, Skynnard, etc., were all I needed. My son introduced me to Whiskey Myers, Blackberry Smoke, Kody Jinks, etc., and I really dig their stuff. I do like all kinds of stuff (Rush, YES, The Who, Kinks, etc.) But when it comes to metal, it's Priest, period.

No I was referring to myself putting a new guys name out there with Oliver Anthony. He's a young guy with old style ideas and integrity.

Listening to Tool in the 90's I thought they were ok. Different sound then the other groups at the time. Vocals and bass were very original. Now I like to have them playing will at work. For some reason they sound better to me as I've gotten older!

OK , I just want to add Tom Jones on this thread . In my youth he was just a flake , singing on TV shows . But looking back this guy was a powerhouse .
