So is that whats suppose to drive sound management? Money?. Non resident hunters probably pay 10X the amount for tags
When is the cut-off look at numbers from 15 years ago to now.Anyway, long winded way to say that yes hunting pressure sucks but I don't think blaming non-res is the answer.
I cannot agree with everything you write, but you are correct once or twice. It has become a money game. MT residents are 100% responsible for what kind of FWP you have. It's going to take organization and money to apply the pressure. Lock out the NR if you want, but effecting change can come with unity. Lose the Us vs Them attitude. We're all hunters/shooters.So is that whats suppose to drive sound management? Money?
Its always the arguement with NR, who pays the property taxs and state income taxs which go up seems every other year especially property taxs its not NR unless you have a second home here.
I'll gladly pay NR license and tag fees if I dont have to pay property or state income taxs.
Did I say lock out the NR. NO I DIDNTLock out the NR if you want
I've never purchased a NR Montana hunting license. I was just stating that NR pay approximately 10X the amount as a resident and they love the $$. No way they are going to reduce the amount of NR tags.So is that whats suppose to drive sound management? Money?

I think first step is increasing the resident license to help offset the % of license dollars R v Nr. No where else in the country sells a $20 elk tag Same could be said for deer. It's not the 50s any more. In my opinion if we get a higher percentage of that funding from residents they may cater more to the residents wants.Like I said earlier NR always throw in the WE PAY 10X more well ill be glad to pay a NR fee and pay no property or state income tax, ill come out smelling like a Rose.
You are correct I am screwed as far as taxs go.
