25 cal would definitely be 135 bergers or 133s. Idk what length you'd end up at with a 6.5mm 144 or so

.300 WSM with 215 Berger is your easy button. The .300 WSM thrives with >3.00" COAL. I propel the 215 Berger out of 24" at 2850 FPS. With 26"+ barrel, you're golden. Good luck!

That's been the obvious choice for me, I've already got the 215s, just need barrel and brass/dies. Would probably go 28-30" barrel

If it was me for a general around cartridge I'd have to say 308 for a custom well that's entirely up to the owner.
I'm basing my choice off of the ability to reload and what the milliary and police use as a long range load. So that would include the .300 win mag.
I'm more conservative when it comes to want vs. need. I'll take available components vs Gucci every single time.
But that comes from Grandpa and grandma that had to live thru WW2 in Germany. So my experience may be completely different than yours
