You'll be surprised at the friends you'll make right here if you hang around long enough.

What part of OK? I'm about 90 miles due south of Altus.

I'm in Moore, OK. About 12 miles south of Downtown OKC. I'd love to make some friends on here and go on a hunt! I have a friend who says he likes to hunt, but always backs out at the last minute.

Hang around a while, good things happen here all the time.

If I lived in Moore I think I'd be somewhere else, that place draws big tornadoes like no other community in the country.

Trust me, I know.. Haha. We had one that was a mile wide come within a half mile a few years ago. I'd love to live in western Montana, Northern Wyoming, Idaho, Northern Arizona, Northern New Mexico and Colorado.

I grew up on the TX NM line and really miss it. I spent half my youth down here and half of it running around the North East quarter of NM with relatives in Ruidoso and Las Vegas and friends that were as close as family in SE Colorado.

Can't say how much I miss it. MarioQ and I went up there Elk hunting a couple of years ago and it really reminded me of just how much I truly do miss not just the country but the people.

Beautiful but hard, hard country to make a living in but some of the very best people on earth.

Funny but my two favorite places/people to be and be with are NE NM, SE Colorado and S. Africa. The people are the same, the country is the same, but Afrikaans is a whole lot tougher than Spanish!

I'd love to go hunting with ya sometime! I've always dreamed of going to Africa!

We went to Ouray for my wife and I's honeymoon. It was absolutely beautiful there! Saw some elk and mule deer in the town. Went camping a few nights and we were camped by a creek. A guy came up to me and said "There's a sow running around here that weighs about 600lbs and she has a cub with her." Oh boy... All I had was my hunting knife with me... Lol

I'd also love to move out west. Maybe in retirement. My short list is Texas New Mexico or South Africa. My wife and I went on a photo safari for our honey moon and love that place. Not sure I could live in South Africa though. Love the good old USA and our freedoms.
I would love to go hunt elk also but like you said the price is crazy high. My father goes to Africa every year now because he can shoot 10-12 animals for the same price as on elk hun he just got back early fall and shot 11 animals some very nice ones and total trip with air fair was $8,300. Hopefully it because cheaper in the future not just for me but for the future of our sport

I know the thread went a little of topic but I will chime in - I own a Montana Rifle in 308 and it's really a great shooting gun, not the lightest, but definitely a great gun built around the Winchester CRF action. I also hunt with a Pre 64 featherweight in 270.

You really can't go wrong with one of these guns, no frills just a good old throw in the pickup working mans gun.
