Mcmillan bedding job gone wrong

Unless the smith finished the outside of the stock, judging by the angle of the bolt slot he didn't make the hole that big. However, all that is an easy fix it will just take some time and patients. I'd probably use Devcon on most of it myself.

I have a vid on YouTube along with 1000 others from better smiths that shows how. Do it yourself guys. It isn't hard. Did a 6.5-284 last night in a manners and it took 30 minutes to do. Another 30 min on the mill to cleanup or just use a file. There is no need to pay $200 for a bedding job.

If I can fill that gap with marine tex as suggested I guess it could be usable

I would recommend that you take it to a reputable gun smith and have him do a full action bed. If it doesn't have pillars have him install them also.

A full action bed will fill all the gaps and support the action correctly.

Make sure you show it to him and get his comments on how he intends to fix it.
Just a comment; That Is the worst bedding job i have ever seen and no one could say that its fine that is a craftsman.
