Maybe I don’t hate the 6.5 CM

So, I have had a long term aversion to owning a 6.5 creedmoor but decided to give one a try. I trade for an almost new Bergara B14 Ridge. This rifle is well balanced and well put together as I would expect from Bergara. Mounted my Vortex Viper 4-16x44 HS LR and headed to the range after a quick bore sight. Took a few to dial it in but after 20 rounds, I am really overall impressed. Low recoil, tight groups, the trigger is amazing and it was just a pleasure to shoot from the bench. I have been a .308/30-06 fan for my whole life. I may have found my new favorite.
If its any consolation I built a 6.5 CM for my granddaughter, Stiller Predator action, Schneider #4 6.5 Barrel 1x8 twist, McMillan M5 stock- 2.5#Jewell trigger - Leupold MK 4 tactical 3.5x10 lighted recticle- she has yet to shoot it but her dad has killed a feral boar and a WT buck. I shot a feral boar. I stockpiled 11 cases of ammo several years ago so there will be plenty when she has kids to shoot "Her" gun!!

I'm wondering where everyone saw all these miracle cartridge posts espousing 1000 yard point and kill shots on game with a 6.5 creedmoor. I have seen thousands of posts saying its not the cartridge its the people hater posts but never saw some bevy of deluded 6.5 creed owners. 6.5x284 is my favorite and I run around 2900 with 140 gr hvld I have a few. I also have a few creeds and one runs 2850 with the same bullet and is my most accurate rifle.
600 yards is my max at animals but I would think the bullet doesn't know the difference out farther between my 6.5x284 or the creed.
I like only buying one caliber bullet saves a lot of space and money. The 26 nosler with monos is what I use for elk and that is another universe when it comes to speed.
I wish I had hair for a man bun but I guess ill have to settle by overcompensating with 4 creemoors.

Ya Man! welcome to the club....it is a great cartridge. To others, try one you will like it too.

It really doesn't matter to anyone but the person that shoots it. If it works great for them, all is good. There are certainly a large number of 6.5 Creedmoor fans. Sometimes I just get annoyed with some of the young bucks making claims of unworldly feats with CM.
Agreed. To be fair I've known some older dudes a little too in love with their .30-06s and right full of 💩 about what they could do/had allegedly done with them haha.

i doubt i'll ever do a bolt gun in 6.5CM but i think it's the perfect cartridge for a gas gun. i built mine on an aero set and a 22" ballistic advantage barrel. it's a heavy a$* barrel - .936 at the block - but there's barely any recoil when you're in a good prone position. that's with an A2 flash hider on the muzzle.

Whaaaaaat? You mean the 30-06 and 45acp aren't magic??! Lol.

I put 3 in the same hole at 100 yards. It really is a well balanced rifle in what appears to be a really good caliber for certain applications
With proper bullet choices it could harvest most North American game. The B.C. on the 140s is amazing and ballistics at 1000 are supposed to top the .308. The .260 Rem is right there too.
