I tried shooting them out of our window also. But my training took over and I shot from the back of the room so not t give my position away.

Had a buddy shoot at a chuck out of the bay window in his living room. He opened one of the side panel windows and was on watch for a garden thief when dinner was called. He grabbed a plate and came back to the little bugger in his plants. One shot of his 300RUM was all it took. Unfortunately, with the muzzle brake on, the surrounding glass didn't fare well! He figured the muzzle was centered up in the window with his rest on the window seat. Blast took out one small pane and cracked the big center pane! Cost him over $300.00 to fix and his wife was definitely not happy for awhile! I was over to see the damage and I laughed a bit, she still hates me I think!

My son had my squirrel dog out for exercise and she treed a groundhog. My son did not know groundhogs are pretty good tree climbers.

When he returned home he told me of the surprise and I informed him I have shot a couple out of trees. One of them actually lived in a hollow tree with its entry hole about six feet off the ground. Below, my groundhog/squirrel pup.

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
I shot several out of trees, tops of fence posts, rock walls. Sure do miss chuck hunting. have not been out in several years. In the past would make several trips a year from GA to NE PA to hunt the chucks in Dairy Farmers fields. Fracking has taken over a lot of Farms. Some Dairy Farmers that worked 24/7/365 three times a day milking became millionaires $$$$$$$$ over night when NG was found on their property. Got the money and no more MILKING!!!
Love that story from your boy!
