Went to the range today, Friday, to push the envelope to see how fast I can push the 175 EH in a 26 inch Rock Creek tube. Ran a short ladder and settled on 72.5 grains of N570. Still one finger bolt lift at 3050. Grouping was not bad. I was at the range from 10 till sundown. I was able to load in the stat house and shoot. Wait in between, BS with the regulars in the stat house while soaking the barrel. Trying to figure out any POI changes between cold bore shot clean, cold bore shot dirty. And, ascertain where is the quick follow up.
Cold bore and follow up two shot groups for POA=POI, varied from touching to 1 inch at 200 yards. The better groups were shot with fouled up bore.
Fishtailing condition in moderate wind.
My previous load with N568 was around 2950.
