More velocity makes it one of my favorite boxed ammo.

What I mean by that is they don't typically expand to as large of a diameter as the softer cup/core bullets. I agree that they typically penetrate better and fully (which I prefer) my experience has been lighter blood trails compared to cup/core bullets assuming both pass through. It is made even worse at lower velocities.I have to disagree with you on the Barnes. They almost always leave a better blood trail just from the fact they get full penetration, leaving an exit wound. As always, you need to match the bullet to the size of the game. The 130 TTSX is a great choice for whitetail shot out of a .308!
You don't need anything fancy or expensive for whitetails under 300 yards with a .308.Wanted to get you all's opinion on my factory options for .308 on Whitetails 300 yards and in. Rifle is a Bergara Premier Approach currently in its factory configuration but it will be wearing a 16.5" Proof at some point in the future so we can take that into account if need be. All shooting will be suppressed. Objectives are 1st to dispatch the animal quickly, 2nd to leave a good blood trail if possible since we hunt some really thick stuff down here in MS and 3rd to bloodshot as little meat as possible. Below are the loads I'm thinking I'm going to try. All of this is obviously pending the gun actually liking to shoot them accurately but I thought this might be a good starting point to narrow it down while I wait for my new scope to come in.

Appreciate the help and opinions y'all.
My suggestion would be to buy the ammo with the biggest picture of a 12 point on the box, seriously I think that ammo promoted by different makers for deer are really very good, after all deer ammo is a big part of their sales totals and they want to keep it that way I'm sure.Wanted to get you all's opinion on my factory options for .308 on Whitetails 300 yards and in. I use the 168 Berger Classics, they work great. The Barnes are a close second, in 168 gr. I've used the 130 gr Barnes at 3,000 fps, super accurate but concerned about terminal performance.
