Hi i been looking at a few 280AI.
Weatherby 307 and a mark hunter.
Savage ultralight
CA mesa fft 280AI
Browning xbolt speed.
I have looked everywhere for a xbolt speed. And a ca mesa fft 280AI. But no one has either. I am going to spend 2000.00 on rifle. And 800 to 1000.00 on a scope. Just using the gun for deer hunting. Fount a used kimber 84L mountain ascent 280AI. Has a vortex scope on it. Does anyone know where a xbolt speed 280AI is for sale.

I have the Savage Ultralight in 280 AI, and I think it's a good hunting rifle for the price. I'm not a fan of the AccuTrigger so I did away with the safety blade on it, and now it breaks consistently. The rifle was easy to develop loads for in the 160-162 bullet range. I'd buy another Ultralight based on this experience.

I have looked everywhere for a Browning xbolt speed 280AI. I did find 1 new xbolt speed. I have fount several Savage ultralight 280AI. Even fount one with a factory camo stock. Used gun at a new price. So i will go with a new one. If i buy a savage. I was planning on buying a Timney trigger. I didn't know u could take the blade off. 150 gr to 168 gr bullet range.

You should try the accutrigger before you make changes. I like mine. And I have a timney on one other gun, and a couple other aftermarket. Jewel IIRC as well. So I do have comparisons.

I have a 280 AI as well. It was done with a SAAMI spec reamer per the smith but has a rather short throat. Has been a PITA to reload for, and COVID sort of slowed down my gunsmith's responses to my concerns...... Good luck with the 280 AI project....

Nosler makes the model 21 and 48 in 280AI as well.

I'm assuming you checked gunbroker.

I went through the same dilemma as you a little over a year ago. I also looked at some of those same offerings but ended up with a Nosler Mtn Carbon. I picked it up for a little over 2k and if I had it to do over I would absolutely pick it again. It's a fantastic shooting rifle. That being said I think the Xbolt and Fierce would be great options also. Keep and eye on gunbroker. Xbolts in 280ai show up there from time to time.

In stock at Grice gun shop.
