Long throat 223 Remington match

Yep. I can't see a 20" running 2700 ever with staball. I'm using hodgdon data.
I'm not sure staball 6.5 is the right powder for a 223. I have attached Hornadys load data for 5.56mm nato with 20" barrel. I plan to build my gun with a 223 Wylde but have my gunsmith do a longer freebore bades on my longer magazine.

NATO vs 223 is a huge difference in pressure.

Might wanna look at hodgdon data and see what it shows for staball. Their data seems to disagree

223 wylde is designed to be compatible with 5.56 NATO as far as I understand. If you read my attachment it discusses the pressure difference. The main difference between 223 rem and 5.56 is actually freebore. I have done some research and technically both chambers are physically the same and therefore rated the same.

Yeah I understand but I've been talking about the 223 and thought others were too. At the time I built this rifle I didn't know what bullet I was going to run. Assumed 75's. Discovered the 88 accidentky and loaded it up. I could buy a reamer and throat it or just get another barrel. Based on the math the 24 should be close to 2800. Is that 150 fps worth it? For now probably not but starting over definitely

I'm not sure you would gain much velocity. Maybe 100 fps... I'm not sure.
