Leupold warranty service

I have Leupold's on almost all of my rifles. The only problem I've ever had was leaving a scope cap at the range. It was a week before the hunt. I called Leupold to purchase a cap. The guy I talked to told me I could safely hunt without the cap, but said he'd put a cap in an envelope and mail it that day. No charge. I'm impressed.

I have a Nikon I picked up on eBay. The crosshair broke. Lifetime warrantly for original owner only. Not impressed.

Question for you folks - could anyone share their experience with Leupold warranty service? I recently sent in a Leupold Mark IV 8.5-25x50. One of the questions on the warranty request got me thinking and a little concerned. As the Mark IVs are now discontinued, would Leupold automatically replace my optic and send something else out to me rather than work on something that no longer a current market value for them?
Here is the question from the warranty request. Thanks in advance.

I just had an issue with my VX-6HD scope. it got knocked around too much on the airlines. Anyway Leupold service was great. I sent my scope back on Dec 12th and had it back by Jan 10th. They repaired my scope and gave me a complete service/repair sheet. I've run it through the mill and it is perfect. This kind of service during these times and over the holidays speaks very well for Leupold in my book.

I have had three M8's replaced with current scopes. This was several years back. In the mix was an old 24X early Leupold benchrest scope. The scope was replaced with a fixed 25x target scope. The FX 25 scope has since been discontinued. Works great for me.

This is not recent history. I really just as soon have had my old scopes fixed. I figured that fixing those older scopes was a diseconomy. Also, Leupold may be able to write off the warranty cost. I wonder if Leupold has more haters than Glock.

I sent in a HD-VX5 with serious focus issues and got an e-mail that said 4-6 weeks for repair?????? Do they have that many scopes in for warranty service?
That's pretty quick. I've used nightforce, Leica, swaro, and vortex. All took 1-2 months. Sig was the only one that was 1-2 weeks but after going through 4 they can kiss my

This thread should be linked on the Leupold scope website. I'm almost feeling left out by not having any problems with Leupold scopes. Surely I would have run across a bad one in in the last 40 years, but I haven't.
Not surprising I've never had a problem either.

Of the few times I have had to use Leupold's warranty service in the last 40+ years, it has been great. I once picked up an old Leupold 4x for $25 at a gun show because it had a chipped objective lens, sent it in and received a call telling me that my scope had been discontinued many years earlier so they had no new lenses to put in it but did have good used lenses if I would be up for trying it. I said sure and received it along with a clean bill of health/checksheet of everything they put it through and to this day, it sits on top of a 22mag and performs perfect. 5 star service is all I have ever received from Leupold, both in their product and in their service.

On my recent aoudad hunt, we had an ice storm. I was used to stepping on the larger rocks, because they generally don't move. Bad idea after an ice storm. The big rocks were just a sheet of ice. I fell hard enough to chip the stock on my rifle, and leave a dent in the side adjustment cap. I was sure that was why my shot didn't go exactly where I aimed. Back home on the range, I checked my zero and it was still perfect. It must have been the wind.

Hello good people, if you have to wait a little longer it may be because they have relocated and are redoing a lot of there equipment, talked with them a short time ago and they were in the middle of getting everything up to date.
