Leupold VX5HD vs Zeiss Conquest V4

I'm looking at the same scope. Did you like it?
I put it on my Weatherby Mark V Weathermark LT in 7mm WBY.

Really like it so far!

Longest shots with it so far is 600 yards.

I have a Sightron SIII 10-50X60 and a Series 2 Crimson Trace.
The Zeiss is a little darker than the Sightron.
Equally as good glass as the Series 2.
But the Zeiss feels more refined than those two, for lack of a better term.

Would I buy it again?
I'm not sure.
It's definitely a quality scope with good glass and smooth controls.

But at $200 less expensive, the Crimson Trace Hardline is probably the Zeiss's twin.

I just received a VX-5HD (2-10x42 duplex) back from Leupold as a replacement for a VX-7 (2.5-10x45 duplex) I sent in for warranty (change out a CDS dial). Leupold no longer does anything with the pop-up turrets other than replace them. Not sure a VX-5HD is an adequate replacement for a VX-7. While the glass is nice on the VX-5HD, these plastic turrets are a joke (first impression). Most likely will never buy another new Leupold and have even stopped looking at used ones. There's too many good scopes out there.... and just as many not very good ones. But I did put the VX-5HD on my 300 Win Mag to give it a try... I do like my V4 and V6 Zeiss' better.

My lightweight hunting rifles wear VX5's (3-15x56) and VX6's (4-24x52)because they're light for the magnification and objective lens size and simply have great glass and wonderful reticles. I'm very happy with them and can't imagine a better hunting scope for the money.

I love Zeiss optics but their scopes left me cold. I don't really know why I didn't like them but I sold them and bought Leupold and Nightforce to replace them

I still have a couple of the old Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42 scopes that have wonderful glass and I love their BDC reticles but I don't rely on them for turret turning so when I get them set they usually don't get changed unless I change ammo.
