7 Mag. Tikka Action and barrel cut to 21". Sig SRD762 suppressor. XLR elements magnesium chassis. Sig Tango6 scope.
I have a 721 in .270 as well - it's a '48. Mine wears a vintage Bushnell 4x ScopeChief II CP amd hits lights-out every pre-season sight-in. It was my dad's deer rifle since the 60s and has many PA and VA white tails to its credit. Nothing fancy, but a time capsule and heirloom treasure for sure.View attachment 181835View attachment 181836
Remington Model 721
Weatherby Vanguard Series II
Both chambered in .270
Neither are fancy, but they sure are fun to shoot!
Oh... that Rem mod 721 is a great little rifle, old school... as is the mod 722, I've had a few over the years and they made great actions for custom builds, and just a fine rifle all the way around, in your case, the Mod 721 in .270 Win is a classic plus it belonged to your father... nice. Also, nice 7mm Rem Mag Deer popper. Cheers.I have a 721 in .270 as well - it's a '48. Mine wears a vintage Bushnell 4x ScopeChief II CP amd hits lights-out every pre-season sight-in. I've always liked the 6.5 RSAUM I had friends who shot them in LR matches it's a great LR cartridge. I used its big brother .300 RSAUM for RL and it was amazing, but... I think I see the appeal of the 6.5 RSAUM on my end is due to my time shooting Remington 6.5 Rem Mag... to this day an outstanding cartridge. I bought one for the first runs of Remnigntons Model 700s in 6.5 Rem Mag, darn I'm sorry that I sold that rifle amazingly accurate for an out-of-the-box Remmy. Cheers!6.5 saum built by myself, bighorn origin, Mesa stock, 26" proof and 6-24 pst. 8.4lbs ready to hunt. Shoots 1/4 moa with 156 bergers day in and day out.
It's twin big brother. A 300 win all the same specs. I haven't worked up a load for it yet but have no doubt it'll be a shooter as well. 8.5lbs as it sits
