Let’s see your coyote rifle!

Some Kangaroo are taken under HC Human Consumption guidelines the majority are taken as pet food with lesser requirements.

HC roo meat would have to be identified, it's a niche market not a staple.

All are head shot in the paddock under a spotlight. Handling as dressing are slightly different but all should be in a chiller box by sun up. Some leniency.

My friend runs a boning plant for pet food. Skins are discarded as they don't have a market. Some of the best boot leather but stupidly gets in the way of export market it doesn't change the numbers harvested .

Most shooters have spotlighted rabbits with .22rf at some point. Populations fluctuate due to calici virus but you have to work for them unless you get on a patch of rabbits. They seem to die off about 3/4 grown do I don't think they reproduce as quick as they used to but they might grow resistant in time.
On a dead run in the back of the head with a 6.5 prc. Not pretty……View attachment 305548
Can we see the rifle?

I guess this is the only picture I have of my rifle.

When I was a younger man, I owned a pair of "roo" boots. Very comfortable. No break-in needed is what they were known for. I hate to hear about waisting good leather. Kangaroo meat in the hamburger meat at cheap burger places was never proved as far as I know.

My wife tells me that I spend too much time living in the past. I still can't believe blue jeans cost more than $3.50 a pair. They haven't changed, except you can now buy them already worn out for you now. Girls can get jeans all ripped and torn up. I guess it is the labor that costs more.

I also heard, when I was younger, that Australia had a problem with an overpopulation of rabbits. I love to hunt and eat rabbits. Sounds like that is no longer the case either. I guess I do not have to come save the place from too many rabbits. My wife is disappointed. She wanted to come, too.

$3.50 ?

Come to Australia anyway, it's a great place.

Yep, Levi's for $3.50.

If I get through my trip to Alberta, Canada to hunt with skipglo without breaking anything or shooting myself, I just may come down there to the great continent of Australia and visit you. Save me a rabbit and a huge buffalo.

Here's mine:

Bighorn TL3 22-250 AI
X-Caliber 1:8 twist 22" medium palma
Manners PRS2 in Altus Sage Flats with mini-chassis
Triggertech Special flat blade
Vortex PST II 5-25x

Shooting extremely well with the 88 gr ELDM and RL-23 at 3150 fps. Shooting suppressed is a dream, so easy to spot my shots in the scope.

Smoked my first coyote at 600 with it over the weekend in Wyoming. Turns out mule deer don't like the combo either.

Awesome picture of the Mule an epically the Yote. Sorry to move this thread but you have a suppressor with a cover on shooting a yote . My question is WHY do so many shooters with a suppressor have a COVER on their suppressor? Not in just this picture , but many pictures with suppressors. I know that it may be a little hot when removing from the barrel (if shot a lot) directly after a shot-Why take it right off? Why have a cover on anyway??? I have (6) suppressors rifle& pistol. Was in the Marines and shot with suppressors-Never covered them in any situation combat or other. If had to remove we just took a rag and removed. If shooting several rounds we wanted the suppressor to cool down-not insulate with a cover.
Please someone explain?
Thanks
Len

Look at the two pictures and tell me a coyote wouldn't pick up on the shine coming off that suppressor. Coyotes are very smart and anything that stands out could cost you a yote. Also heat mirage in your scope is a thing.

I Have covers for most of my suppressors where they'll work. It has nothing to do with being able to take the suppressor on or off. It cuts down on the heat mirage. Between strings when I want it cooled I just slide the cover back. I shoot at the range with my suppressor cover and while verifying my distances. I need the same poi at the range as I do for hunting. Changing weight on the end of your barrel can affect that for sure.

I spend a lot of money on my suppressors (especially those Thunderbeasts) and I don't want them scratched and banged up. Don't even want to say what my TB 338 Ultra cost me PLUS the $200 tax stamp! That's just me though. To each their own.

Just think about you statement:

Shot a lot of Yotes in my time and My suppressor not shiny and i am not shooting so many coyotes to heat up my suppressor that I see a "Mirage" in my scope especially using a NV scope.

Could someone tell me why they use a cover on their suppressor??? I see no use for one. I can take my suppressor off anytime I want. If hunting how many shots are you going to take to get a suppressor too hot take off. Also why would you you want to unless you are moving to a new location and the suppressor is too long on your rifle.
real confusing to me

Okay I'll bite. I don't have a suppressor and kinda wondered why also. After thinking about it I'd want to protect it as best I could. Scratches is one thing, a cover could provide some cushion from dings and dents too. If there was a malfunction of some kind I could get it off fast without burning my hands. What malfunction? Heck if I know, but I also know Murphy is alive and well so I'd want that option. And lastly because he wants a cover.

It's already been said. Mirage can be terrible after a few shots.
