My dpms has always been a shooter with the hornady frontier soft points and the HP. Shoots them well enough I haven't bothered with 53gr vmax yet.Good looking rifles. My calling AR is a DPMS Prairie Panther which I think is pretty much the same gun. Mine is in Mossy Oak Brush and I had a few upgrades done. I had the barrel lapped for better accuracy and a 2lb trigger put in at the local gunsmith. Both helped it to shoot well. It's still picky on ammo but what it likes shoots really well.
The Hornady Spire points shoot great. The only reason I went to 53 gr vmax was to get more range and explosive impacts. Otherwise the spire points work just fine.My dpms has always been a shooter with the hornady frontier soft points and the HP. Shoots them well enough I haven't bothered with 53gr vmax yet.
Vmaxs shoot just as good for you?The Hornady Spire points shoot great. The only reason I went to 53 gr vmax was to get more range and explosive impacts. Otherwise the spire points work just fine.

Pretty cat. Are you sure it is dead? Looks like it is waiting for you to return and feed it. And what are you so mad at that coyote about. I like coyotes. It is just hard to eat a whole one in just one meal.If I'm not in wolf country I use my Bee Super Varmint Master in .243 topped with Zeiss 4-16X... In wolf country I'll grab my Grendel topped with Vortex, the Bee shoots .2's @ 100 W/70gr.Vmax... The Grendel will put Sierra 85gr. into a dime @ 100 all day, plus it's nice for fast follow up shots...View attachment 304571View attachment 304573
