Least effective brake

With the inexpensive electronic ear pro now there is no reason not to wear it. You can actually hear better sometimes with it as the old excuse is "I have to hear the game" was always used.
Qualify what you say as inexpensive. The only ones that worked for me were almost 2k. Basically hearing aids marketed for hunting.

Banning brakes is an overreach of governmental authority. One can simply wear hearing protection. They might just as well ban guns as well. Bad idea.
I'm sure you noticed what country it was. A few still hanging on and most are half a blink away from pure old school socialism.

You can find quite a few for under $300. If they work for you that is a different subject but for the price of needing hearing aids later they are not expensive at all.

Unfortunately, when hunting here in western MT, I don't have time to put ear plugs in before the shot. I have shot a rifles with a MB and no hearing protection. Not fun. So in an attempt to solve this dilemma, I will be experimenting shooting my hunting rifles with MB's and without to determine POI shift if any. Sure would be nice to be able to remove the break before hunting and save our hearing! Will post the results as they unfold.
I hate hunting with muzzle brakes and never used them until I started shooting past 6-700 yards at game. I hunted for years with a 9.5 lb ready to hunt 300RUM shooting 180 at 3400. The only way I could consistently hit where I wanted past 600 first shot was with a brake. I have tried everything from plugs cheap hearing aids electronic muffs and I won't spend for the crazy expensive hearing aids.
I'm seriously teetering on pulling the brakes off and shortening my range.

Thats why I am hoping for little or no POI shift with brake on or off because when I am hunting, I never notice recoil. Too many other things going through my noodle. For all other shooting, I can enjoy the benefit of having a brake on.

When I took my brake off this year my loads slowed down….not by much but consistently enough, the poi changed and the groups also opened up. Idk

You take a weigh off the top of the barrel you change the harmonics. Both point of impact abs spread! I'd yiu replace it with a non braked cap of same mass it might remain as with the brake. Other than recoil

If I had a machine shop at my dispose I think a combination linear brake plus top and side ports properly angled would accomplish what I'm looking for. The seekins is very close.

Yes, I figured it would, but not all that and that much lol. I guess to get to the point of it, I was hoping for the best that nothing major would happen but when you have a 26" barrel things multiply the further out.

I shot at Wenatchee and there was an experienced 1000 yd F-Class shooter there with a brand new $5500 rifle there with a Vias brake. He shot the rifle with the brake and then took the brake off. He could not notice the difference in recoil. He took the brake and threw it as far as he could throw it. That is one brake I have not purchased. I can't tell you why the design is less than optimum.
