Lathe value.

He's lucky…that thing would be as handy as a pocket on a shirt ;)

I am replacing it with this one, a Super11 for the same price. Super 11 is an upgrade, I just need to add a VFD and DRO. Headstock length are close to the same length. A D1-4 nose is a plus.

Very nice. Here's my replacement machine. Profit master 14x60. Going to give it a good cleanup before I press it into service. It's not bad, it's just been sitting unused for the last couple years.

May I make a suggestion?

For the Z or carriage scale, buy an extruded slotted aluminum square to mount the scale on. It is much easier to mount and indicate it square and level in the back of the bed, then mount the scale on it.
I think I understand what you're saying, you don't have a picture handy do you ?

Here. You can see the scale is mounted on the extruded aluminum. The rigid aluminum makes your life easier indicating its parallalism to the carriage. Indicate the top and back to make sure there is no noticeable runout as you move the carriage from end to the other. Adjust as needed.

The issue most lathes the backside is not necessarily flat.
