Well, it was the last day of Eastern Washingtion Whitetail season I had just woke up and looked out the window it was foged in like a mother trucker, so I got ready and waited for my buddy to pick me up. I got in the truck and he said I hope the fog doesnt stay. I said me to. We were off, we had just pulled off the main road and about 100yds in the fog was gone I looked at my buddy and said "best day ever." We got to our spot and had been sitting there for about 20min when I heard a truck pull up behind are truck. About 10 more min went by and then BOOM! it wasent me or my buddy so we headed back to the truck and just around the corner there was another truck and to guys gutting a buck. It was our other two frends. They had pulled up behind our truck, cracked the window, blew there buck grunt out the window and this 3 point came down the hill . . . one of them stepped out of the truck and boom the deer ran to the road and died ***!!!
So it being the last day I was thinking that they had just killed the last buck on the mountain but never the less I was still going to hunt. So we headed to the back half of the mountian and walked in about an 1/8 mile and sat down. About 20 min had went by when I started to hear some sticks braking. I thought it was the doe I had seen a few minuets earler heading up the hill. Further up he hill about 300yrds I saw another doe, so I put my rifle on my pull cats, then another doe came out they were working their way across this 50 foot opening on the hill.
When out of the trees with his head down came this guy. I held my 300 yrd mark on him, as he stoped for a split second I touched one off. He was still moving like I hadn't even touched him so I racked the bolt on my winchester m70 and shot again. Then he disappeared into the trees.gun)
I walked around the old skid road and up the steep hill to where I had seen him last. There he was. I hooped and hollered. It was the Best Day Ever!!
I shot him with my M70 in .270Win 130gr Barnes TTSX out at 3100fps.
the first shot hit him just above the hart the other back a few inches.
