Kodiak brown bear rifle

Also, I wouldn't try shooting a big brown bear at 400 yards, to much could go wrong and the bear run off. Then you have to go after a wounded bear that is really ****ed off and not happy. When selecting your rifle remember you may have to make several shots really fast back to back so don't pick something with more recoil then you could accomplish that with.

I have only shot 250 grn Swift-A-Frames and 225 Barnes through mine(358 STA). I also shoot the 250 Swift-A-Frames in my 350 Griffin & Howe. It's a 375 H&H necked down to 35 caliber. I like the 35's.

I have killed many bears, I love bear hunting and I love my fellow bear hunters EVEN MORE!

What I have learned from bear hunting is this, the closer the better. Just saying. :)

The .358STA is a 8mm Rem. Mag necked up and blown out to a 35 degree shoulder with a .500" shoulder diameter. It's 3-4 grains more capacity then a straight 8mm necked up.
