This looks similar to a Stevens Crackshot that a couple of my kids and nephews learned on. I like the idea of single shot for learning. My older kids learned on a Winchester model "55" single shot .22Another single shot rifle for a youth is the Savage Model 30. Bought one for my grandson to get him started.

Agree Ruger 10-22 bull barrel is the perfect way to start.Ruger 10/22. I have one that I got in the late 70's and I bought one for my daughter in the early 90's. Who knows how may 10,000's of rounds have been through them
