Good morning 2025!

I didn't realize how many turns this thread would take. I just though it eye opening how much fragmentation occurs in a bonded C&C bullet. Lead poisoning aside, I think it's always better to have less foreign objects in the meat I eat. I too have a lifetime of eating leaded meat since I've shot 99% more game with lead than pure copper bullets. I do know Barnes copper ML bullets kill better than any lead slug I shot.

That brings about the interesting claims of copper bullets having less terminal ballistics than lead core. I will need to investigate this more since there are opposing claims.

Well dry firing smooths out triggers and can be good practice. If you don't practice with your rifle then you probably shouldn't go hunting with it. If you don't practice with your EDC you might as well leave it at home. Seems like some need to relearn lessons all the time.

They dont, thats from individual biases. Typically, a single material bullet will perform terminally with more consistent results than multiple material bullets.

The mechanics of cup and core bullets jacket separating or shedding lead and losing a large percentage of their weight, and the mechanics of solid monos mushrooming or shedding petals (depending on design) are well documented here and all over the web especially youtube channels of people shooting them into water jugs or gel. Solid monos have a much higher consistency of retaining weight in accordance to their design. Its simple mechanics, one solid material is going to perform more consistently than two materials bonded together and everyone here knows lead sheds its weight dramatically.

This is a fact with plenty of empirical evidences. I have seen plenty of risk factors/ possible health issues (mostly from anti-lead, political, environmental groups) but I have yet to find empirical evidence causing human death by lead bullet poisoning ingested from wild games.

The only lead poisoning I have seen that was fatal was lead intoxication (saturnism) due to lead bullets lodged in human body.

That's the beauty of still having the freedom of choice here in the US. I use them too as an alternative, but not my preference.

I remember that California said that they had overwhelming evidence that lead bullets and shot was the reason condor's were dying.
Just imagine this many years after the law of no lead that they are still dying of lead poisoning.
Interesting video posted by the OP but it's not changing my mind on what I shoot. Life is full of choices.

Nowadays I question everything that comes from our government and their so called scientists.
How long have they been adding fluoride to our water saying that it's safe and beneficial for our teeth? And now some 60-70 years later it comes out that, oh yeah it's actually a poison that causes many health issues.
I'll stick to eating my lead filled venison thanks.

And this shedding of weight equates to energy transfer and more tissue destruction. If a bullet retains 100% of it's weight other than the temporary stretch cavity it's going to do less damage. This is why you should shoot light monos and push them as fast as you can. This is exactly what I have seen shooting monos versus cup and core.
