Irresponsible bullet manufacturers

It burns my butt that if I spend my money to buy bullets from a bullet company that their answer to a data question is " well you need to spend more money and buy my data " Hornaday for example I've got some 123 amax bullets and i need some 6.5 prc data sent them a email to see about load data I even sent them a powder list and their was we'll sell it to ya that just ****es me off. Sorry for the vent and I know there are bullet companies that freely give you their data and I applaud them for doing so Barnes and Berger will amongst others
Here you go. Load data for anything you can imagine.

Great to see some of the responses. I always somewhat expect as a long time member of the rifle, firearms, hunting, loading, and shooting community that we help each other in any way we are able. I know it's not 100%, but for the most part we offer what help/info that we are able to provide. I bite my tongue at times but make the attempt to "Do unto others". Happy Thanksgiving!

Yes I do also and have read all of them I just don't have a ton on a 6.5 prc right now and like some others said I can figure it out but with the price of supplies right now I'm not willing to burn up a ton of it just to get where I want to be especially when I've already spent the money on someone's product
Hornady load data for one cartridge is exactly $1.00. American.

This ^

Also i neither for nor against hornady in general but God bless 'em they still make some AFFORDABLE bullets for general purpose use that have largely remained AVAILABLE when everything else was gone.

Look at the price difference between hornady bullets and things like Barnes, Nosler, and Berger and yeah, for the price they're asking darn right the other guys can offer some free load data 🤣

Thank you for saying this, it's exactly what I was thinking.

While in the city today, stopped and bought 10 more boxes of Hornady for my 7prc. Always lots in stock, shoot great, and priced right.

Agree 100% regarding Hornady. I was pretty much all Nosler, but during the last three years, I switched almost all over to Hornady. I love the ELDX in 4 cartridges. I still have some AccuBonds, but Nosler has pretty much fallen off my hunting recipes.

I get your point….that said, there is plenty of baseline load data out there for that bullet weight and construction. To not find and develop from that is a bit ….uh….lazy. Which is ok. You just need to pay for the easy button. That said, I find published data rarely the easy button. SAAMI max oal is rarely my best oal in a cartridge.

I guess I find little value in published data. If I'm buying it, I'm not paying much.

I have bought loaddata.com before. Lots of data, but marginal value….often pretty old.

I agree with the op on this one. Every bullet I shoot supplies free data, I've always wondered why hornady doesn't. And during the shortage, hornady was no better than any other company in my area

Good thing you're not into wildcat cartridges, you would be pulling your hair out. There are reloaders and there are handloaders, (rarely) the twain shall meet.

I would speculate that for a company like Hornady to do some custom load development, the cost / manpower would be significant, especially if they did that very often. Custom load development is not really a core business for Hornady, I don't think. Unknown Munitions does this as their core business, so it may be worth giving them a call or email. You will still end up paying them, as this is a service that is not free from anyone.

Anyone ever contacted Hornady or other bullet maker about the loads they use to test production bullets in their test rifles? Would that be something that's proprietary?

Are any bullet manufacturers that do produce load data (printed or electronic) should help out reloaders IF they actually care about THEIR sales! Yes, trying to get 1 specific load for a specific bullet isn't hurting them at all! Hornady's $1 service is more about the time and upkeep of their electronic versions...................still not bad.
