A Remage barrel set up is a prechambered , prethreaded barrel that can be installed by the owner at home with a few simple tools, and a few specialty tools . The tools required barrel vise, action wrench, go-no gauge set, torque wrench, and anti sieze lube. This is a basic list of the tools. The owner would then remove his old barrel, using the vise and action wrench (some times easier said than done) , then install the Remage barrel, set the headspace using the gauge set and tighten the lock nut. Then you are done you can buy several barrels and just use one action.Hope this helps.

I would like to add Benchmark barrels , and Shilen triggers and barrels, Benchmark is now doing cut rifled barrels I am in the process of building a 280AI with one will report back when complete.

I understand perfectly, thank you! I have heard of many doing that with Savage, and more recently, Rem. 783 rifles with the barrel nut. I just had not heard that term before. That's why I love this site!
