I will not be getting 'the vaccine'...

That's fine, but I don't go sniffing asbestos or smoking cigarettes either. And I can't reasonably give that cancer to someone else if I do.

What should be worrisome is that a lot of us have done everything in our power to slow or stop the spread and we still have as many cases and deaths as we do.
Do we really have that many deaths is another question nowadays if you're hit by a Mack truck your death certificate will say died of Covid

Why deny yourself and take a chance? I had my first dose and waiting for the second. My daughter died of covid.
First let me say that I offer my condolences and I am deeply saddened for your loss

We, wifey & I, will get vaccinated as soon as possible. We are real olde and COVID19 would kill us for sure. Some relatives living in other states that are younger than us have been vaccinated but for some reason the two of us, in Montana, cannot get the vaccine. We do not have much confidence in government to act responsibly & efficiently. Hopefully, this vaccination situation will not play out to be one controlled by political considerations - like dispensation of vaccine based on: maintaining control (1), influential & powerful (2), those groups needed to maintain political capital (3), & everybody else (4)

Too late Covid has been very political from the start

There's something that is constantly misrepresented in the "Covid Deaths" every day. The death total is people who die "With" Covid, not necessarily "From" Covid. The typical Covid death is 60+ years of age and has 2.6 comorbidities. But the media conveniently leaves out the other 2.6 reasons and reports that Covid killed xxxxx people. Very irresponsible and likely purposeful.

The other key area people need to consider is this is the "First Pass" of this virus through the human race. We should expect and are seeing far more abnormalities with regards to the genetic/immune system response. Tragically, there's a bit of "luck" involved here. And the therapies that have kept people alive that otherwise would have died at a early age have weakened the gene pool. For clarity, NONE of what I just said is meant to to be cold/uncaring/disrepectful.

I think the vaccine is a good thing and also understand those that won't get it. I 100% support people's right to choose the vaccine, open/run a business, go out and live, or stay home and weather the storm.
Personally the fatality rate doesn't concern me (not to sound callous). I worry about having a rough bout with covid, and ending up with decreased pulmonary function. I want to be able to work and stay active.

I retired from a company that had simple philosophy when discussing alternatives: Speak with data.

I am 70, wife is 65, the data for mortality is crystal clear to us which is why we have opted for vaccine and have received dose one.

I do agree there is misinformation on some things which is still troubling but the mortality facts are irrefutable.

IMO if you are 50 and older, you are at higher risk. Yes, older folks have underlying conditions but so what! Dead is dead. We have grandchildren that we want to see grow and this is by far the best way to do so.

They will say anything to get results that work for them and their agenda

Or, we started based off what we knew from past coronaviruses and things changed as we learned about this coronavirus. If an approach did not work, the numbers showed it and we adapted. If something isnt working or we can do better, change is good, not political.

Right, we're all learning as we go... I had one health care worker tell me it could be 2022 before we have the facts.

You have essentially 3 COVID causes of death.

COVID caused. Death directly due to COVID

COVID assisted. You have an underlying condition which is exacerbated by COVID resulting in death. You would have died eventually, but COVID speeded up the process.

COVID indirect. You had a condition for which you did not seek treatment because of fear of getting the virus or medical facilities were not accepting non-COVID patients

It's pretty dang obvious when someone dies of COVID. Not hard to make that distinction when it comes time for the death certificate. Can't think of a single case I've had where someone died, and also happened to have Covid but the Covid didn't kill them. And everyone gets a Covid test who is admitted to the hospital so it's not like we're missing cases. I'm all for questioning the numbers and I do question MANY decisions that our government has made. But the death rate is real.

Seriously—if this many of our own community on the forum has personally experienced it? One (that we know of) actually has passed away from it? And it's still all a hoax? Really guys?!

I would never call it a hoax it is serious I'm only saying numbers are exaggerated But still nothing to sneeze at
