Especially if I get into reloading and build a round for it.Was debating on a 30" barrel for the extra velocity, thinking 28" should do though.

I was up to 2890 with my 26" but groups started to open up.Was debating on a 30" barrel for the extra velocity, thinking 28" should do though.
Think ya missed the point. Already picked the action, and cal. Was asking for advice on the build, not a douch picking fights on a post. All due respect to a well known member...@Trm82
Only person wrong here is you….
I don't care that YOU CAN shoot to 2000, so can a 300WM, and you compared 250g 30 cal to 250g 338, apples to oranges.
Nobody is shooting comp at 2000 with a 300 PRC…..
The Op said nothing about shooting competitively.@Trm82

Opinions, opinions, opinions.
Facts!, facts!, facts!
Box of ammo for 300 prc runs 60$ here, box of .338lm runs 130$... don't wanna buy a can for .338, previously stated. The Op said nothing about shooting competitively.
I also compared 300 gr which the 245 gr is more than comparable with and with a longer bbl which he said he's going with he will blow the doors off a 26" bbl 338 lapua.
You do you Magnum !! but I've seen what a 245 can do at a measly 2808 fps and do with great consistency to 2000 yards .
He doesn't need to spend a fortune to go enjoy him self out to 2000 yards so why would he want a large bolt face magnum which brass is expensive and 338 bullets are also very pricey.
Maybe things come easy for you, but they don't for me so he can do the 300 PRC and save some money and have a great time.
Good sir, you def didn't understand the objective.@Trm82

2000yrds is nonsense for a 300PRC, or anything else 30 cal….Good sir, you def didn't understand the objective.
Why because you say so ?2000yrds is nonsense for a 300PRC, or anything else 30 cal….
Oh yeah, and how much ammo is gonna be wasted spraying and praying to hit at that range? Why because you say so ?
Screw that !! I've seen what they can do , i'm not saying it's the best thing out there. There's definitely better choices but for a guy on a budget and something that doesn't break the bank to shoot it it's a hell of a time.
Cheers2000yrds is nonsense for a 300PRC, or anything else 30 cal….
Time always tells if I get it built buy fall, feel free to plan a visit at Fouled Bore in OK. It's a one mile range. Pls bring a .338.2000yrds is nonsense for a 300PRC, or anything else 30 cal….
Bartlein can make me a .338lm barrel that the reciever will handle. But why kick up the recoil that much if balistics are similar and the intent is mainly paper.Cheers
