I got my bear!

On the plus side of my nightmare with my Bergera, I was left without a rifle for my bear hunt, which pushed me into using my bow.
I got my first bear at just over 50 yards with a double lung and heart shot!

That bear had a cub didnt it? You can see the cub running right after you shot mama in the video. Its at 2:50-2:52 in your video. The cub is to the right and then is running up the hill above the bear you shot...

No that was a full-grown female he was paired up with. Next to my big male I thought the same thing at first

That was a great shot! And quick kill.
I wrote this suggestion on another forum: best bear I have ever eaten was some hind leg that I put into a turkey fryer at a party. We were trying all kinds of meats and this bear was there. Tried a little chunk at first. Then several pounds total. Very good.
