If it provides assisted access, then yes. Why should someone have preferential treatment if access is not by foot? A horse is no different. It is a mode of transportation. Horses damage the land just like any other form of transportation. Its not hard to understand a horse is a form of transportation. Why shouldn't a horse be regulated?

Nope, well aware if it. I disagree, horses provide unfair advantage to ONLY those who own horses are ENTITLED to remote access. You want to hang your hat in a 57 year old act that is out of date with current needs? Land Management plans are not etched in stone or else they will fail miserably. The environment alone changes whether from natural or external influences. Society changes, political changes, heck climate changes MANDATE the review of policy to reflect these changes. You need to understand I am not advocating unfettered access but FAIR and controlled access which is not the case right now.

First, I want to thank @406muley for a really good civil polite discussion that in a lot of forums would end in diatribe. We can disagree and still present our thoughts for each other to consider. I bet we can have a really good beer talk!
So is a horse fair? They are expensive, require unique requirements most cannot meet. I cannot afford an Ebike either but what I see is a disparity of access that needs to be addressed.
I really don't know what is the right mix for access. We are at a point where accessibility is going to become a PITA that has to be addressed to be fair for all.

The only way to remove all disparities, is, in addition to allowing Ebikes to go anywhere into the wilderness, the gov't must also give everyone an Ebike. Otherwise people who don't work couldn't get an Ebike for riding into the wilderness, and that wouldn't be fair. And, those free Ebikes have to be good ones so that really fat people can ride into the wilderness, too. It wouldn't be fair if you eat McDonalds and candy and watch TV all day every day that you couldn't ride into the widerness, either. And, those Ebikes need to have air conditioning, too. It wouldn't be fair that people who don't like the heat would be uncomfortable on their wilderness rides. And, . . .

BTW, thanks to FWP, I already have a couple of places to use my e-bike.
The department of interior has limited the power output. I'm sure it exists, but I haven't seen where they are allowed over 750watts in any of the areas I have read about.
