How would you set up a 308 Winchester?

Have you ever had a savage switch barrel? If yes, how do they work out?

This one is a switch barrel. I have the tools to do the switch myself. It doesn't take much to do it. I will caution that when you change the bolt heads, you will need to adjust the firing pins length through the bolt face. The magnum bolt face is a little thicker than the non-magnum bolt face. It isn't hard to do. Just becareful turning things. That spring is strong!!!! I shot pieces all over the place by accident the first time I tried setting the timing on it. luckily I found them.

Anyway that sounds like a good plan on your part. The .308 is an excellent caliber to plink with.
