How to make Savage 110 Action less sloppy

Hey guys, looking for some help with trying to tighten up a Savage 110 action with the bolt throw on a 6.5 creed. I have a spiral fluted bolt and it seems to get hung up every 3rd or fourth round making it hard to cycle quickly. Any ideas on how to make this smoother besides getting a different action?

If it cycles smoothly on the previous rounds and gets sticky consistently on 4 and 5 it leads me to believe it's the magazine that's making it feed tougher.

Does the round hop over the bolt face and bind, requiring a slight pull back and then feed?

Savage is a great action, self alignment.

It's a great action but they are undoubtably sloppy on cycling. Compare some in a local store, but I'd be willing to bet it is the normal fit.

That is common with the Savage fluted bolts. My buddy has 2... 6.5 Creedmoor and PRC.
Both are sloppy, rough and hang up when cycling.

Hey, have you tried polishing the bolt and the raceway? Sometimes just a bit of smoothing can help reduce friction. Also, make sure everything is properly lubricated. If that doesn't work, you might want to check the alignment and make sure the bolt isn't binding anywhere.

When the bolt is all the way back... if it has lots of side to side movement, it will drag to the side due to leverage when manipulating the handle.
I've seen 3... all the same issue. I wanted one until I noticed those all felt the same when cycling.
