How to blowup your rifle

The only story he told me of a bolt leaving the action of a rifle and impacting the shooter's skull was with a Weatherby rifle.
Sounds suspicious. To me it seems like you are taking this as an advantage to poke at people who don't follow your beliefs on who makes the best action.

@Winkfish , I am so glad no harm came to you other than pride and the cost of the rifle.

I do have a question. Before cutting up the action, did you consider removing the barrel? Forgive ignorance in this as I've never had a stuck case that way though I have worked on a Savage that did.

OK. Weatherby actions aren't worth a ****. How suspicious is that?
I poke at members who like worthless Weatherbys.

But first and foremost, I poke at jfseaman. Because he is most deserving of it. That's what is referred to as a "hobby".

Swamp and Mud, the 12 year olds are calling for you on FB. Better get back before your mom gets mad.

I was dead serious and not poking fun at Savage actions, have seen a Rem 700 in 338 Edge stay together after a 300 gr bullet was fired with a cleaning rod still in barrel, action was fused together and damaged beyond use but held together and shooter walked away unscathed, had that been a Savage or Win70 action it would have been flying shrapnel in all directions

Just how sensitive can you get over an inanimate object ? Hopefully 2018 will heal your sore backside

Very sorry to hear about you rifle. Makes me wonder if home owners' insurance covers toys.

You don't follow Accubonds with Berger's, the copper fowling is not compatible between the two brands, I've seen this before!!
I guess I don't understand why the smith didn't simply remove the barrel, usually just remove the barrel and everything comes apart, Tig the bolt handle back on or replace the bolt and move on.

That's what the 'smith I know would have done. I saw him do it for a friend of mine. We found some reloads in the barn so he took them to the range. The first four of five were fine. Then one was really loud. The bolt would not open and the scope was bent.

I have a theory. Very cold rifle contracted in dia of bore and chamber. Copper fouling problems. All combined with ammo that had been kept warm in a pocket or such giving the dia of the bullet expansion.

I have feozen bullets and measured them and re measured after warming them up and I was amazed at the amount of size difference.
