How do I get my muzzle break off?

I'll add the Kimber is lefty loosy. Get an 1/8" punch and put through the holes then a sharp rap with a dead blow hammer or brass hammer if you have it. Soak treatments above will only help not harm too...

I've used the hack saw many times too. Gunsmiths may revolt but I have recrowned many rifles with a basic kit from Brownells. They aren't as pretty but results have been excellent.

If the hot water and heat gun don't work take a propane torch and heat up the brake. I had to do this to a friends rifle. It was built by snowy mountain rifles. His barrel was too thin for 5/8x24 threads so they made an adapter from the barrel to allow 5/8x24. I used a stock makers vice. If you have a vice build a set of wooden jaws to protect the finish or purchase a barrel vice like the viper. They're cheap and allow you to swap shoulder fit barrels.

my go-to to remove brakes/flash hiders is a mini torch. heats up nicely w/o damage and no need for a vice. these are on ar's where loosening the extension is a possibility. heat around the brake/flash hider threaded area only in an even rate as NOT to "cherry the devise being removed. a slight discolor means it's heating as needed. as someone mentioned before to use of a punch is good!

A dab of anti seize goes a long ways in being able to take your breaks, or suppressors off and on. I understand most folks don't plan on changing things out. If you do, you will thank yourself down the road, or the next person that owns it.

To get your muzzle brake off, use a soft cloth with plenty of oil. Begin slowly stroking the brake until it's starts to get warm then increase the stroking speed until it gets really hot. By this time, the brake will be very close to coming off. After a while, grip the brake even tighter as you continue stroking and soon it will come off in your hand.

Be sure to wash your hands well afterwards. The brake will remain attached to the barrel but it will be very happy and will probably love you forever!
Tongue firmly in cheek,
Cheers,
