Suppressor Laws

Don't be fooled. These politicians know exactly what they're doing. There by no means stupid. It's the fools that elect them into office are the stupid ones. Most of them wouldn't know which end of the gun to stick in your mouth.
The woke progressive politicos are just the lackeys of their overlords. All are greedy criminals who only care about themselves and have zero interest in anything or anyone else. In that sense, they are truly stupid to think that they are autonomous when in reality they're just pawns in game of control for the elites over the citizenship. It's not about them, these corrupt politicians, it's about their controllers. That's the core of the issue. Money begets power, power begets control.

All true guys. Turn around times now with the electronic kiosk and gun stores is a week and online checks guys are getting turnaround time so 48 to 72 hours it's getting really good now. But I agree the turnaround time should be no better or worse than the time it takes you to purchase a firearm and have your background check done in the system like any other time. The people against these who think they are all movie quiet regardless of caliber have never actually been to a range and fired them they are not movie quiet even the ones I used the best ones made the ones that aren't even fielded to the civilian population or not movie quiet they are significantly more quiet than one sold the civilian sector but not movie quiet. They are however the best hearing conservation you can get for firearms enthusiasts hunters and it's a great second shot opportunity for hunters given certain circumstances. They are fantastic and helping mitigate recoil on a lot of calibers and just make firearms more pleasant to shoot. To each their own I think there's a place for them I don't use them for everything but sometimes they're great to have.
My suppressor just came in. It took me three months? Via kiosk. My background checks do take quite awhile for a gun purchase. I'm one of those guys I guess (former military, never arrested; okay I have had a couple speeding tickets, that's about it). I do have a VA hearing loss.

Legal issues with owning suppressors is not limited to wait times. There should be no legal traps on subsequent transfer, or just sharing with friends and family when they want to hunt/shoot and not damage their hearing. Should be no different than earpro. From acquisition, use and disposition. Not a trap for unwary.

Like I said The Hearing Protect Act is ready, it's been through two readings in congress and all that it need is a sponsor to come back to the floor for an up down vote. If they have the projected majorities there are likely going to be a laundry list of things passed in short order and I think we all want this on that list.

This a contact your representatives and reference the act itself action and resist the urge to go down an NFA rabbit hole. Machine guns may be cool(think jet ski) but Silencers are real tools that most of us could and would use on a regular basis(think work truck) and actually has measurable benefits to health. Hell in much of Europe an "unmoderated" rifle is down right uncouth. Send a personal email even though it will likely only be read by a congressional aid. Form letter signatures and what not only show how much general interest there may be in a topic, but those never get forwarded to reps to read and have less impact in general.

Ole Don might not be the gun advocate you guys think he is, He's the only recent president to mention or advocate making suppressors illegal. He as a person really isn't that big of fan of guns or hunting for that matter,

Also that was after a high profile shooting leading into an election year and he is from New York so I don't expect him to be an advocate. What I expect from Trump is to not be a hinderance, it's up to us to push our congressmen to get the dang bill removing Silencers from the NFA to his desk.

Don't forget that President Trump was the one who put forward the whole "bump stock" fiasco. Bump stocks don't mean anything to me but, for those that enjoyed them, I see no reason to take them away.

The problem was the miss-use of the firearm and/or it accessories. You don't ban cars because someone drive drunk and kills someone. You don't ban SUV's because someone was texting when the rear-ended and killed a car full of people. Same with the Las Vegas shooter, he was the problem, not the gun or accessory maker and, there is an argument that the resort was "asleep at the wheel" when he transported cases of ammo and a luggage trolly's worth or two of firearms to his hotel room; Really what overnight guest needs several rifles and cases of ammunition in their room. I say this having taken a shooting class where I fired ~2,000 rounds over 4 days.

Punish the person, not the inanimate object they used to do EVIL.

The main problem with the HPA, is Hollywood movies creating a false sense of what they really are and Congressional legislators that generally can't tell the difference between an AR-15, a semi-auto shotgun, or deer rifle.

Add the distraction that the Second Amendment is about deer hunting and, I personally see all the HPA aspirations as being a hard pull and unlikely to cross the finish line.

His son, OTOH, is an avid hunter and shooter. Don't know which one, or maybe both? But one shoots LR competitively.

And that's why solid arguments that don't go down unnecessary rabbit holes should be used. The bill is to improve and protect human and environmental health when using firearms.

I remember when he said about banning suppressors, it also bothered me when he banned bumpstocks.
Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely happy he won, the alternative was way way worse. But, TBH, I would be lying if I said I trusted him completely when it comes to any firearms legislation or EO pertaining to them.
