Hornady digital powder dispenser issues.

I use to have the same problem, I restricted the end of the discharge tube using a piece of rubber plug with a smaller hole drilled in it. I use a light charge and trickle up on my "AND"scale

Maybe too late to help but I was having issues with my Hornady machine and after contacting their customer service, one of the recommendations was to de-static the machine using a dryer sheet. That fixed it. All good! Personally in the future I will use something instead of a dryer sheet like an antistatic spray on a microfiber towel or maybe something specifically designed for lab equipment. The dryer sheets do have a fabric softener on them that left a little residue inside the powder hopper. Not a big deal though.

I have a fix for it. Throw it in the garbage. If I use the straw mod and slow it down in the settings it can be bearable. But it still over charges and the thing I hate it has a .10 tolerance up or down to accept the load. So it Can be .20 really. It also can read low or high but it will still show the target as weight.

Try the number two process, I have been using mine since 2010 and have never had issues after setting it to 0.8 before every loading session it will still throw a heavy weight once and a while but not very often and then only .1-.2 over YMMV but it's worked for me.
Haven't had any issues with this one till just the other day . The first one went back as it wouldn't power up ,then if it did it never worked right . I had ran some test loads a few weeks before for my 300rum and the 280ai with no problem just the occasional over charge . I thought I re- adjusted the time when I started having issues but it was a long day of driving before I got to it so I'll have to look again and confirm đź‘Ť.

The dryer sheet keeps the powder from sticking to the inside. It works amazingly well. I use them in my muzzleloader fill tubes . Powder use to cling to the inside and you'd have to tap it out . Now just pull the cap and pour no issues.

Having issues with my dispenser at a terrible time . It seems to throw charges at .5 to .7 over no matter what. The powder is 4831sc so it shouldn't be an issue. The dispenser was warmed up and calibrated as I always do before I load . It's on the slow setting and with it set for 58 gr I'm consistently getting 58.5 to 58.7 over charges . I've tried to re calibrate it and it doesn't seem to help .
If it's consistent why not just lie to it. Instead of putting 58.5 grains put in 57.9 grains in and see what it does. I have an RCBS one and have to tell it one tenth grain less than I want and it will give me the weight I'm loading. Just my two cents worth.

I always throw .5 below my intended load and hand trickle the last bit...saves the frustration when using different powders of the inconsistency and then the loads are spot on. Not a big deal!

So I was able to make some ammo . Took some time to figure out what was causing my issues. One the adapter has an connection issue it will work then loose connection . Fixed for the time by running it upside down when plugged in . Then I slowed down the time and got it better . Not perfect but enough for 25 rds . It's definitely going back to hornady as when it makes a over charge you can see it still is not slowing down correctly and it possibly has a broken gear . All 25 rds came in at 58gr after some fiddling and re checking weight as I didn't trust the first weight and verified every one twice . Now off for the 6 hrs drive and the youngsters elk hunt!

I had issues with my RCBS chargemaster Lite overthrowing, I did modifications to the tube and the bench it sat on etc... I got to the point of under-throwing and then dropping kernels with tweezers. Eventually I purchased a SuperTrickler V2 with the fancy Fx120i scale. Still had problems though in the Hundredths of a grain not Tenths. The problem fellow electronic scale users...is drift. Static on the hands, clothes, in the atmosphere...humidity, heat, drafty rooms, floors that aren't 100% solid and benches that aren't vibration dampened, power sources that aren't filtered and conditioned and compact florescent bulbs....all cause electronic scales to drift.

I have implemented filtered and conditioned power and ferrite beads on the power and communication cables. I put my scale to sleep, but never turn it off. I also use 99% isopropyl alcohol to wipe the platten and cup down, as well as, use gloves when handling the cup. I still get drift, however, instead of 0.06-0.1 of a grain, I get 0.02- 0.04 of a grain. Electronic scales just aren't super trustworthy because their reliability literally can change with the weather, your clothing choice or changing light bulb to an LED or CFL. If it's overthrowing, it's likely because it is getting a fluctuating reading and the scale is drifting down so it keeps feeding and then when the scale comes up...it stops and you're over.
