Help me decide which 22LR bolt action

Have you looked at Savage? Lots of offerings. Including:

MARK II BTVS
Raise the bar in 22 LR performance. The Mark II BTVS offers user-adjustable AccuTrigger™ technology for crisp, customized trigger pulls. Its 21-inch, heavy stainless steel barrel is is button rifled

CZ barrel swaps are super easy and you can get barrels in 17 or 22 caliber. 5 shots each at 50 yards.1/2" grid
Wow, very nice groups. I'd be very happy if I can get that kind of accuracy in just a simple walking around rifle 👍

Are these groups using the original CZ factory barrel or an aftermarket one?

That's the 'American' in 20.5" barrel? LMK how ur targets look with each type of ammo variant. I think I've decided on doing the CZ 457 Varmint and, once my suppressor comes in, I'll either have the barrel threaded or buy an aftermarket one.
I considered the Varmint 457, but the one I picked up was the synthetic suppressor ready version. It does have the 20.5" barrel. Weight for those long walks in the squirrel woods was the reason I went this direction. I'm also putting a suppressor in jail for this little RF. I also pulled a VXIII 3.5-10X40 out of the safe to see if it will work out. I can attest the CZ trigger is so much better than the Ruger 10/22. The action is smooth when comparing others I looked at. I will post results.

I have a few very accurate 22s. I wanted to practice dialing, so I put a good scope on a bergara b14r carbon. It shoots absolutely great. I can't say how much better than the marlin 880sq or the savage fvsr with wind being such a huge component. I don't recall ever really wringing them out on a calm day. If I were carrying them around or shooting offhand it would only be the savage.

I have a a cz457 and it is a beautiful gun and it does shoot good but I think my savage might be a bit more accurate and it is the one I usually grab. Maybe check out the Christensen arms Ranger it looks like a good one

Another vote for the CZ455 American, but looks like barrel is too long. Hoe 'bout a cooper Jackson Squirrel rifle if you want something flashy that shoots? They are owned by Night Hawk custom now and just getting ramped up but they might build something for you with a shorter barrel for under 3k. I have spoken with them and they seem like good guys.
