Old post I know but these are helpful. I have one and have carried a 2nd rifle thru it a few times. Its a neat pack.
Sliding the rifle in or out while the pack is loaded and the compression straps are tight or snug is not that easy. Much easier to yank it out obviously, but need to loosen the straps and slide the rifle in and then tighten everything up.
The rifle is carried far from ur back so it feels best to keep it snugged tight
You can also slide the rifle in the main pack which keeps it closer to ur center of gravity.
With the bag zips opened up theres quite a bit of room. Easily enough to carry some meat back, Ive fit an entire deer in there quartered up including ribs.
Due to the plate style frame the load lifters are not as functional as they could be but the pack is capable of gettin meat out.
