Ever so often, we ask readers how many cartridges do you load for, and since we have several new members since the last time I saw it asked, how many do you load for and are you adding or decreasing numbers? Anything very unusual, very rare or of other interests?

18 different rifles and 6 pistols, all but 1 rifle and 1 pistol are mine. No wildcats. forgot to mention 28, 20 & 12 ga.

Finally someone else who loads for the 17 hornet! Lol. Just wondering if you have ever come across any case issues when loading for it. I have 3 sets of dies and all 3 have on occasion split the neck on the case, maybe out of 50 I will get 1 or 2 that do this. Also, I'm looking for other loads for mine. My go to load right now is 10.6 of imr4180 c.o.a.l 1.750 with 25 grain hp's. Works really well but temp plays it's part with this load. If you dont mind me asking, what are you using for loads?

Ha! Glad to see someone else using paper wrap bullets for reduced loads in rifles. Also, I have used cotton paper to make varied sabot full power loads for 357-44 an 357-45 and other reduced caliber, high vel handgun loads. Love using a cast 123gr paper jacket in a 303 Brit and cast 180gr in a reduced 30-06 and others in a 45-70.

If you really want to play around with sabot loads, reduced or otherwise, try 45 cal high vel muzzle loading sabots with a 40 or 357/358 bullet in 45-70, 45LC etc. Loads of fun and using a 180 spire 358 in my 45-70 greatly improves the range. 45 LC with a 125 HP can be loaded very fast.

Above are a couple of pics showing the 45LC sabot loads with 125gr 357's and a 180gr cast 40 cal and a 165JHP 40 cal. The other pic shows 44 mags with a hand swaged 300gr JHP using a 40 cal case as the jacket, a high vel 357 cal 125grJHP in a paper patch sabot and a cylinder length 44 mag shot shell

Ooops, hit the wrong button. To continue:
Bolt action - 6
One was a benchrest rifle initially chambered in a cartridge I designed, and the gunsmith labelled it 7mm Stirner. Very similar to a long 7mm Valkyrie, or a short 7/08 AI. I recently rechambered it to 7mm/6.5x47.
The other is my favorite rifle - 35 Whelen AI
Shotgun - 2
It's hard to say if I'm increasing or decreasing the number. I recently bought a CZ Shadow 2, and have a 270 WSM in the classifieds.

I hope my wife does not see this...

Where are you getting the WSSM brass? I have a 7 WSSM upper that I don't shoot much because of the scarcity of brass. I could even be talked into selling it, because there's not that much of an advantage over the 7 Valkyrie.
